The South Cumbria Bat Group always welcomes new members, and is happy to have new faces along on activities, even if you are just curious about what it is we do.
Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds and ages, but have one thing in common – an interest in bats and natural history. Many of us have fallen into bat work by accident, some have a life long interest, and some just enjoy getting out and getting the feeling that they are doing something for wildlife conservation.
You don’t need to know anything about bats to join our group, and you won’t be criticised for being a complete bat novice. Quite the opposite, we are always interested to meet new people who have an interest in learning about bats, and encouraged new members to learn more and become actively involved in group activities from the outset.
Involvement itself varies from no active involvement at all, and just donating to the cause, to participation in the Committee and running activities throughout the year. If you have a suggestion of something that you would like to do but do not feel that you have the expertise to run it then just let Rich know and he will see if he can add it to the Activity Programme.
If you would like to find out more about the group please, have a look at our Membership leaflet or contact us for further information. You may also wish to attend one of our bat group activity meetings.
